New pupils

The acting Head Teacher (Mrs Clarke) will always be pleased to meet prospective parents, make arrangements to show them around the school and provide further information. Prospective parents are also welcomed and encouraged to visit the school on Public Open Day and Evenings when they will be shown around the school by one of the older pupils.

Parent of new entrants will be invited to attend a programme of introductory visits during the team prior to their admission to school. These will provide an opportunity for parents to meet and join in discussions with the head teacher and other staff (including visiting staff) and a school Governor.
Opportunities will be given at parents interview evenings to discuss pupils’ progress, usually one each term, in addition, the Head teacher and members of the teaching staff will be available to meet parents at mutually agreed times (it is best to see class teachers at the beginning of the school day or after school hours) to discuss any point which may interest them concerning the progress and behaviour of their child.

Other meetings and workshops for parents will be held occasionally in order to familiarise all concerned with current educational developments. We believe that it is in the interests of the child that we develop a sound parent/child/teacher partnership. For this reason, as soon as the child enters our school we liaise closely with parents to form supportive links for the child and build firm foundations for their future learning.

It will also enable parents and children and parents to spend some time in class and to meet their “new” teacher. Parents and children are invited to have lunch at the end of one of the preliminary visits. At present we are able to admit new children at the start of the academic year, i.e. September in which they have their fifth birthday.

Please contact the office to make an appointment to meet the headteacher and view our school.
