Premier League Referee Calls in to ‘Book’ Year 6!

To kick things off for National Book Week Year 6 were paid a special visit on Monday afternoon by Priemier League referee Alan Wiley.  Alan kindly gave up his time to visit both Year 6 classes and read a chapter from the book they are reading, Why The Whales Came.

After the reading, he discussed with the children the kinds of things he liked to read, and revealed that he enjoyed Autobiographies, his favourite being that of his childhood hero, Trevor Francis.

The children then took the opportunity to quiz Alan about the trials and tribulations of being a top official.  They had prepared questions and were very inquisitive about all areas of refereeing, football and the top footballers.

We would like to extend our thanks to Alan Wiley for giving up his time and providing us with a great start to Book Week!

Thank you Alan!
